Ads for Shorts, and Vice Versa

There are a lot of TV ads and commercials out there. Some of them good, great, horrible, or straight up weird. But most of them are more like product-driven short films. And they all were directed by somebody. Some of them go on to be renowned filmmakers, like Michel Gondry and David Fincher. But they also tend to make their careers and continue to return to the medium. It's a great, and relatively quick, way of getting the creative juices flowing. There's a lot of 'em out there, here some that are worth a view and some of my personal likes.

Ok so these are just quirky ones. But its hilarious seeing some of our favorite stars act kinda goofy, cuz Lord knows they're getting paid enough to do it

Here's a little ad from Wes Anderson, who's a pretty active ad-maker himself, with Brad Pitt alongside another big star.

Alright so this next one isn't a real ad. But it's pretty fun watching 2 Hollywood actresses go at. Directed by Roman Polanski.

This is an oldie. A football (soccer, for us Americans) ad from 1998, with the Brazilian team waiting for their plane to the World Cup. Directed by Hong Kong director John Woo, known for his "ballet of bullets" action movies, he creates a soccer ballet in an airport. Pretty damn entertaining.
